credit problems and repair
anyone have any experiences with credit repair?
FM me your experiences please!
the things is, my story is complicated. ive explained before but this is it again in a nutshell.
i am trying to buy my home from my husband. the only way i can do this is to apply for an equity line of credit. during the past few months, i became delinquent on student loans. i was applying for a forebearance. i was under the impression that since you could choose at date that was retroactive, i did not have to pay for the months that the paperwork was being sent back and forth.
anyway, my credit is shot now. the loan company wont budge. they said they reported to the credit bureau that i was approved for forebearance but that the 2 delinquent months will not be removed.
i dont know if writing a letter will help. every time i call i ask for someone higher, the next supervisor and no one can help me. in my case, i need something done NOW or i cant get my house.
HELP!

Re: credit problems and repair
a while ago, i asked a whole bunch of questions on here and got some great responses....do a search under my name, and see what comes up.
However, I'll summarize: 1. make ssure you pay off everything on your credit report 2. make sure your credit report is accurate, and if it's not - contest it. 3. time can only make it better - slowly but surely, your score will go up. 4. try signing up for a secured card (you put $ on it, and use it like a debit card) it will show that you're building up credit 5. three months after you've done the above, sign up for an unsecured card, it may have a low balance, but put a few things on there per month, pay it off (80%) each month and your limit will increase as well as your credit score
Oh, and most importantly - DO NOT USE one of those "companies" that's going to do it for you, they're BS - you can do it on your own. I did it, so can you!

All of the above are very good tips, however, if you are going to get a secures card (which I do suggest), keep it longer than 3 months. It may take about a year. Credit reports show a history of 2 years of payments. It's good to have a consecutive 2 yrs of on time payments.
Just try to pay everything off, and start all over.
Good Luck. So far for me, my score went up over 100 points in a little over a year. It just takes time.
