Crib
Ladies:
I found a crib I love, but it is $599, is that tooo much $$? It does transition into a toddler bed then into a full size bed...
if you go to Behr's website and look under "Baby's Dream", then the white/antique white generation series. Bottom left box. Generation Series Crib

Re: Crib
We recently ordered a new crib for Sarah's new room and it was about the same price. We figured that since it will be a full size and toddler bed too, it's going to be her furniture until she moves out (and she can take it with her if she wants then) that it really wasn't that expensive after all. We ordered the full size rails at the same time so that when the time comes to convert the bed we have everything. I didn't want the company to say that they didn't make them in the same color or style or whatever anymore.

Re: Crib
I think it's a great crib, esp. bc it converts to a bed. Not too pricey at all. How Exciting!

Re: Crib
Love Love Love that crib. We are actually going out to purchase our baby furniture this weekend (yay) from behrs...a Munire set.
The price might sound like a lot now but your child will be using it for years! Definately worth it.

Re: Crib
I would definately not go crazy with cribs. They are in them so short a period of time. I borrowed one. And then i went out and got her a real "big girl" bed. But I understand how excited you can be getting all new baby stuff.
I went into buy buy baby the other day and i walked around like a zombie. So much great stuff. But yet i have so much stuff already.
I got most of my stuff as hand me downs and they did just fine for me. That just justified for me when i went out and got her new stuff later on.

Re: Crib
I'm lucky in the dept of hand me downs. I had the whole nursery set given to me before I event started the adoption process!

Re: Crib
I don't think $600 for a crib is at all too much money.- of course, everything is relative. That is how much our crib was and Molly has used it every single day for 2 years. Honestly, if we were not adopting our son, she would stay in it until she was 3 years old. It does transition to a toddler bed, but I need the crib again so we got her a cute canopy toddler bed. I don't regret the purchase at all. It is well made and will last me many years.
Just an FYI- Be very careful with hand me down or thrift store cribs..older cribs may not met currently safety standards.

Re: Crib
We have the crib as a hand me down from my cousin but I'm going to buy the other pieces (dresser, bookcase, glider, etc).
I was going to take my cousin's whole set but my dad has a "thing" about hand me downs so I told him he has to buy it then! So far it worked!!
The set I like was this one, but it sooooo overwhelming there and so much to choose from.
and this the bedding I'm liking today!!

Re: Crib
I always look at furniture that I plan to keep for many years as an investment. If I feel the price is worth it for what I am getting I'll buy it. Thats all I have to say about the price of a convertible crib.
I do want to say that these cribs and bedding sets are beautiful! Have fun shopping everyone.
