crib tents....UPDATE..DH is the man

so, Christipher will NOT stay in his crib anymore. He tries to climb out. He just climbs to the top and straddles the crib. I thought this day wouldnt come for a long time. I just dont think he has the cognitive ability to go in a day bed. It has been a nightmare every night now, sitting outside for an hour making sure he will fall asleep. Now we have to put them to bed later and when he is really tired, because then he wont try to get out.
Anyone use the crib tents and like them??
Not sure whether to do to a day bed, then that means Matthew will have to switch, because you cant switch one and not the other. Matthew does fine, because he is shorter and cant try to climb out.
Any ideas....Chat Icon

Re: crib tents....

My friend had the same issue with her 2nd daughter and she used a crib tent and loved it. I have seen them really cheap on craigslist.

Good luck!

Yes, get it!!! I have one because my DD started to climb out around 16 months. She is still in it and is almost 2. It was the best thing I could purchase. I didn't want to put her in a toddler bed because I don't think she is ready yet. She loves it too. Chat Icon

Re: crib tents....

We've been using them since august and they have been working out great. They actually love their "tents". We even got pack n play tents for when we went on vacation.

YES YES YES! We have one and love it. Like your DS, our DD was not ready to be in a bed yet. She jumped out at 19 months and that night we got the tent. At first I hated it and felt like she was caged in, but she got used to it so quickly and it's awesome. She sleeps great in there. We even got one to travel with too!

Re: crib tents....

I read all the reviews, and worried it wont fit our crib, and he has been having night terreos and wakes up on some nights, so my worry is that how will I get him out?? It said that it goes under the mattress??

It should fit most cribs and it does go under the mattress but you don't need to open that part. There is a zippered opening that opens the entire front of the tent. Look at the boxin the store and you'll see. You can easily zip and unzip it.

Diane - you can get it at buy buy baby and use your 20% off bed bath & beyond coupons (just not expired). I was worried ours wouldn't fit either but DH was able to make it work.

There are two versions out there. Once that goes under the mattress and the other one does not. I got the one that does not and it fits my crib. It's a very weird shape too. You can always return it if it doesn't fit. Also, the zipper is really easy for you to open and close so if you need to get to him, it shouldn't be an issue. Chat Icon

Re: crib tents....UPDATE..DH is the man

thanks do DH , he came up with an idea. He took a big piece of plywood and sanded it dowm, and made holes in the middle, and put it on the top part of the crib with heavy duty ties. No screws were neccesary. Christopher CANNOT escape now, and hasnt seonce. DH said he will make a fortune with his invention. I was so worried he was going to ruin the cribs.
i will have to take pics an post them.
Thanks everyoneChat Icon
