Crib vs pnp question
Did anyone put their DC in the crib right away and the crib was not in your room? Did you sleep in the nursery where the crib was with the baby or leave them alone at first. Or did you put a bassinet or PNP in your room for the first few months?

Re: Crib vs pnp question
I had the pnp in our room for a few weeks, dd slept in the bassinet part (sometimes in her rocker chair, in the bassinet )
she went into her crib at 5 weeks and has been there since

Re: Crib vs pnp question
I put my DD right in her crib in her room from day 1.
Everyone does what they are comfy with - for me i felt that we both had a better chance of some sleep in our own beds.

Re: Crib vs pnp question
With DS, he was in the crib from day 1. Since he was our first, one of us would often sleep on a futon in his room. With DD, we also put her in her crib from day 1, but we weren't in the room with her at all.

Re: Crib vs pnp question
DS was in the PNP for the first week (in our room) and then we moved him to his crib in his room. I never slept in his room but I sure did spend a lot of time in there between feeding and checking on him. I should have just slept there.

Re: Crib vs pnp question
Thanks moms, you are making me feel better. I think once is born he should be in his own room. I thought I would be a "bad mommy" if I didnt sleep in there with him. I was actually afraid to ask any family members or friends about this. It isnt like his room is far from our room. And I know I will be in their often checking on him, feeding and changing.

Re: Crib vs pnp question
We used the PNP. He has slept in his crib a few times, but he doesn't have a room (we live in a 1 brm. apartment) so anytime one of us has to come home after he is asleep we put him in the PNP again.
