Cricket Question
For those of you that see crickets in your basement (especially cave/camel crickets)......
I have seen 14 this week and my husband has killed almost all of them....
My question is, do you think these are new ones coming into the house each night? or are they living and multiplying in the house? We have a finished basement and we have seen these in the finished part, so I couldn't even imagine what is living in the unfinished part...
Should I worry about eggs etc next year? or is it all just because it is cold out...
Help!!!

Re: Cricket Question
I would be sure to thoroughly check all outside entrances as well as openings in the foundation such as sillcocks, dryer vents, cable and phone wire entrances etc...

I agree with this....My dad is an exterminator and we had the same problem...we finally realized that the crickets were coming in through an opening on the bottom of the fireplace where the ash thing is....so we replaced the part and then sparayed the house and we haven't seen any since. my friend also had them in her basement and she found that they were coming through the dryer vent because it wasn't on properly. Re: Cricket Question
We just found two huge nests outside our house. One was in the garage. We had a leather chair wrapped in blankets for storage. We took off the blankets and there were millions of them there. The other nest was in an old brick BBQ that is bulit onto the side of the house. Both nests are gone now. Every now and then I'll find one in the basement but we put down sticky traps and we haven't seen them since.

I find them in my basement as well. We are spraying this weekend and putting down sticky traps. I can't STAND the end of summer/ fall for this very reason!!
