Crock Pot Poll

I used to have one and had a terrible experience. without going into details, I ended up tossing it lol

I am now debating whether to get a new one - since all of you post such yummy sounding recipes.

Re: Crock Pot Poll

Yes to Crockpots...it is so handy especially when I was a working mom, I could put everything in the crockpot before I went to work and when I got home dinner was ready. Most families that both adults work full time eat out more than families who have one person who stays home during the day. So.......................
healthy dinner+work= use yourcrockpot

ok, good! so I am NOT alone! Chat Icon I made a roast once a while ago and it smelled so funky! after it was done, I could barely eat it - I could not get passed the smell. to this day, I don't even remember if it tasted good or not Chat Icon

I could not get the crock pot cleaned up. and the smell lingered, so I tossed it. and I followed the recipe to a "T", so I am pretty sure it was nothing that I did wrong. Chat Icon

Just do it D...forget the smell!Chat Icon

This morning I tossed all my ingredients in the crock and asked DH to turn it on before leaving the house for work. When I get home tonight we'll have a kickbutt dinner with that crazy recipe I e-mailed you yesterday.

Do it....Do it...Chat Icon

Re: Crock Pot Poll

I love it. I just need to get some more recipes and those easy liners that make it a pleasure to clean up. I've never used them, but it sounds good!

Re: Crock Pot Poll

I voted yes, but my answer is sort of yes and no. I like using it if the recipe is sort of a throw everything in and turn it on type of recipe. If I have to brown things and clean pans up just to prepare what's going in the crockpot, it is too much of a hassle.

I also don't really like leaving it on all day, and we have wiring that is so old, we still have a fusebox, so I don't leave it on if no one is home.Chat Icon

I wouldn't leave mine on all day without being home, but I think it is one of the easiest ways to make good food that is healthy without a lot of effort. Now...veggie recipes.Chat Icon

Re: Crock Pot Poll

I love using mine, but honestly don't do it often enough because it means I have to dig it out of my closet since I have little storage space and don't have it in an accessable spot.

Re: Crock Pot Poll

I just ordered a new one from Williams Sonoma...it's the All Clad one. The one that I currently have releases a lot of condensation from the top and it kind of drips over and sizzles when it cooks - not very safe if you ask me.
