Re: crock pot receipes??
I posted some crock pot recipes a few weeks ago, I just have to find the post. One recipe was for beef stew and the other was for a chicken and shrimp with rice recipe.
Today I'm making brocolli cheese soup in the crock pot. It came from a cookbook my friend has and it's SO good and really easy.
4 ingredients: 2 10/5 oz cans of cream of celery soup 10 oz velveeta, cut into chunks pint of half & half 20 oz bag frozen brocolli
put everything in the crockpot, mix together, and cook for 6-8 hours. Serves 6-8 people.
I double the recipe to have tons of leftovers!
also you can use the "low sodium celery soup", "low fat" velveeta, and "fat free" half & half to make it more fat and calorie concious.

Re: crock pot receipes??
here are some I've tried and enjoy!
Tuscan White Bean Soup 6 ounces of smked bacon, diced (I leave it whole and remove when done cooking-it looks funny floating around!) 10 cups chicken broth 1 bag (16 oz) dried great northern beans, rinsed 1 can (14 1/2 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained 1 large onion, chopped 3 carrots, peeled and chopped 4 cloves of garlic, minced 1 fresh rosemary sprig or 1 tsp dried rosemary 1 tsp black pepper
Cook bacon in skillet on med-hi until just cooked; drain and transfer to slow cooker. Add remaining ingredients. Cover and cook on LOW 8 hrs or until beans are tender. Remove and discard rosemary sprig.
******************************************* broccoli and beef and pasta 2 cups of broccoli florets or 1 pkg (10 oz) frozen broccoli, thawed 1 onion, thinly sliced 1/2 tsp dried basil 1/2 tsp dried thyme 1 can (14 1/2 oz) italian style diced tomatoes, undrained 3/4 cup of beef broth 1 lb lean ground beef 2 cloves garlic, minced 2 Tbsp tomato paste 2 cups cooked rotini 3 oz of shredded cheddar cheese or grated Parmesan
Layer broccoli, onion, basil, oregano, thyme, tomatoes w/ juice, and beef broth in slow cooker. Cover and cook on LOW for 2 1/2 hrs.
Combine beef and garlic in skillet; cook on high 6-8 minutes or until meat is no longer pink, breaking meat apart. Pour off drippings. Add beff mixture to slow cooker. Cover and cook 2 hours.
STir in tomato paste. Add pasta and cheese. Cover and cook 30 minutes or until cheese is melted and mixture is heated through.
**************************************** Creamy Chicken & Wild Rice (one of our FAVES) 2 cans (10 3/4 oz ea) Cream of Chicken Soup (you may use 98% fat free) 1 1/2 cups water 1 package (6 oz) seasoned long grain and wild rice mix (Liptons Wild Rice Sides) 4 Large carrots, thickly sliced (about 3 cups) 8 skinless boneless chicken breat halves (about 2 lbs)
In slow cooker, mix soup, water, rice and carrots. Add chicekn and turn chicken to coat. Cover and cook on LOW 7-8 hours or until chicken and rice are done.
FYI: My DH doesn't like mushy veggies, so I add the carrots in the last 30-45 minutes.
****************************************
There are plenty more appetizers, main meals, and desserts!

Re: crock pot receipes??
DH and I have a crockpot cookbook and most recently we cooked a rump roast in it and made French did sandwiches (the roast cooked in the pot with beef broth, french onion soup, rosemary and thyme)
We got some French bread that we heated in the oven with some swiss cheese and then we made the sandwiches and dipped then in the juice.
Yummy.

Re: crock pot receipes??
That sounds yummy -I am hungry now.
Danielle bought something yesterday in the frozen food section, that is low in fat and it is also frozen. It is a complete meal in the package, and you cook it according to the package in your crockpot. We havent tried it yet but we heard it is yummy....
I usually like to make Chili, and a rump roast in my crockpot....those are my two favorite things to make Scott

Re: crock pot receipes??
I'm trying this one this weekend Home-Style Pot Roast INGREDIENTS: • 4 chopped potatoes • 1 chopped onion • 2 chopped carrot • 2 chopped celery • 1 clove garlic, minced • 1 lean beef chuck or top round pot roast, about 3 to 4 pounds, cut in 2 pieces if necessary to fit • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil • 1 teaspoon salt • 1/4 teaspoon pepper • 1/2 cup dry red wine or beef broth • 2 tablespoons fresh minced parsley • 1/4 cup cold water • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour PREPARATION: In slow cooker combine the chopped potato, onion, carrot, celery, and garlic. Trim the beef roast. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat; brown roast on all sides. Place meat on the vegetables. Sprinkle roast with salt and pepper; pour the 1/2 cup wine or beef broth over roast. Cover and cook on LOW for 8 to 10 hours. Remove the pot roast to a warm serving platter. Strain the vegetables; reserve 2 cups cooking liquid. If necessary, add water to make 2 cups. Put the reserved liquid in freezer for a few minutes, so fat will quickly rise to top. Spoon the vegetables around roast and sprinkle with parsley. Cover meat with foil to keep warm while preparing gravy. Skim excess fat from reserved cooking liquid; pour liquid into a saucepan. Blend the 1/4 cup cold water slowly into flour, stirring until smooth; stir into cooking liquid. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring until thicken and bubbly. Serve gravy with pot roast and vegetables. Serves 6 to 8.
Made it Saturday and was so GOOD!!!!! No leftovers at all!
