Crohn's & Colitis Walk
I am doing the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America's walk in Massepequa on April 29th at Marjorie Post Town Park.
My mom has had Crohn's disease for the past 16 years or so and so this is a walk that herself, me and my sisters do every year as a way to support my mom.
This is a shot in the dark, but I am posting the link to my page on thier website if anyone would like to sponsor me.
I thank everyone in advance for reading this post!!
Melissa

Re: Crohn's & Colitis Walk
Thank you SO much for sponsoring me! Crohn's and Colitis is such a bad thing and so many people don't know about it. My family certainly never heard of it before my mom was diagnosed!
Thank You!!

Re: Crohn's & Colitis Walk
My mom first showed signs of crohn's during her pregnancy with my sister and she was SOO sick during that pregnancy. It is such an unknown disease but can be very bad.

Re: Crohn's & Colitis Walk
I don't come into the charity boards as often as I should. I am a volunteer for CCFA and was at that Walk.
I worked for the Foundation as the Operations/Education Manager for over four years, from 1999-2004. I am still close to my old boss, colleagues and some of the people I met through there. I volunteer for them whenever I get the chance.
Next year we'll all meet up there!

Cool! I was kind of disappointed about the walk though. I don't think it generated the publicity it needed. It needs to be in a bigger venue with more support.

Crohn's Disease will always need more publicity and support --- too many people just don't know about it!
I'd be interested in meeting up next year. We do the walk every year.

Re: Crohn's & Colitis Walk
it was my first one and I've done walks for other causes and this one fizzled for me.
How much money did you raise if you don't mind me asking?

Re: Crohn's & Colitis Walk
I raised $700 and I know others raised a lot more. Great!!! We need all the support we can get. Everything helps.
I wish we had more buzz about the disease. There are days I just want to curl up and die.
