Crohn's/IBD affects

Just curious if anyone notices the differences or if its any stronger with pregnancy?

I'm only just started week 5 and really not feeling so great. I'm very naseous but it's similar to my 'normal' issues and i feel like it's still too early to call it morning sickness.

I'm just not sure what to expect the next few months.

TIA!

I have ulcerative colitis (along with a bunch of other autoimmune issues) and they all got BETTER during pregnancy! Usually anything autoimmune gets better during pregnancy. The immunesystem is decreased naturally to reduce the risk of miscarriage Chat Icon

Re: Crohn's/IBD affects

I don't have Crohns but I have rheumatoid arthritis which is also in the same (autoimmune) family. I agree with Val-with the exception of lupus (and my lucky self-i flared at 21 weeks) autoimmunes tend to get better or go into remission during pregnancy. You are likely feeling m/s but ask your monitoring doctor.

My IBS stayed the same but my lactose intolerance disappeared. And I am severely lactose intolerant. I was able to eat all the ice cream I wanted and had no issues....That came back full force after DS was born though...
