I think if you have the money to splurge....I would choose a hotel that has the monorail running through it. We plan to go this coming Spring and we are thinking of either the Polynesian or the Wilderness Lodge. The Lodge doesnt have the monorail, but it has a ferry that takes you right to the magic kingdom in 5 minutes. I have stayed at other hotels before and with kids and a stroller I found it hard going/waiting on the buses, getting on and off them with a stroller while they are packed, etc.

they are both on the monorail line so you can't go wrong with either one.

I agree, we stayed at the polyneasian last October, the monorail is so convenient when pushing a stroller. The polyneasian has a nice view of the fireworks from magic kingdom at their main pool.
ETA: Never stayed at the Grand Floridian but we went there for the cinderella dinner and it is beautiful inside!

One more thing to consider which we didn't is maybe finding a hotel where all the buildings are connected meaning you don't have to walk outside to go to your room. We got caught in the rain one night and it was a bit of a pain making a run for it from the main building of the hotel to our rooms. They Polynesian does not have any rooms in the main building but the Grand Floridian does(although becareful not all of them are) as well as the Wilderness lodge (but you have no monorail) and the Contemporary.

Ah good to know. Thanks!
I have stayed at the Contemp 3 times. 1 time in a Garden Wing and 2 times in the tower. Love the tower. But not interested in the Contemp with my child, at this point.

we stayed at grand Floridian for our honeymoon. We loved it, very close to magic kingdom, however if we go again we wont stay here as the hotel wasn't "disney" enough. It was definitely more grown up and if I was traveling w/ a toddler I would want more of a disney'ish feel. I would choose the Ploynesian.
