Croup cough - any OTC meds for the cough?
Please help if you know of anything or have given anything in the past to your DC that has helped them get through the night.... Kristina keeps waking from her cough

could she have asthma? my son needs a nebulizer treatment whenever he sounds croupy & its the only thing that gives him relief. It took me (& the dr) only 2 YEARS to figure out it was athsma. (new dr now!)

No, because croup is in the throat not the lungs. If you make the bathroom all steamy and bring her in there for a few minutes and then take her right into a cool room(in front of a/c is great). It will help open her up and relax her cough for a while.

Thanks ladies... It's definitely croup. I have asthma, and my sister has it pretty badly, so I *think, hope and pray* that I know what to look for.... I bring her into the shower Chris - I just feel so bad when the coughing wakes her at night...
