Crown molding & paint colors
Hi - this is probably a stupid thing to ask, but I'm going to ask anyway
My living room is now taupe (it looks like a light grayish/brown) & the crown & floor moldings are a plain white. I'd like to paint the hallway that joins the living room a creamy white (Behr's "Antique White") since it complements the taupe. My questions are:
1) Should I choose a different color than creamy/antique white for the hallway? The hall moldings obviously need to be different from the wall color, but (in your opinion) would plain white molding on a creamy white wall look weird?
2) If you think that it's ok to use the antique white, what color should I paint the crown & floor moldings in the hallway? The standard white that I used in the livingroom or the same color as the wall?
Thanks!
Edited to clarify my questions a bit

Thanks everyone!
So you think that cream walls with white molding will look ok?

Re: Crown molding & paint colors
All our crown, base, and window mouldings are painted white semi-gloss. We have an open floor plan, so the mouldings run from room to room. They have to be the same color.
ETA: cream walls and white mouldings are fine, IMO

Re: Crown molding & paint colors
i would keep all the molding white - love how a crisp white molding looks, regardless of paint color. Sounds pretty!

Re: Crown molding & paint colors
Thanks everyone! I just showed my dh the color that I'm thinking of and he agrees that it should look nice, so we're going to give the white on white look a try
