Crown Molding-- how hard is it really?
I have heard this looks a lot easier than it actually is to install. Anyone have any experience with this?

you need to know how to measure & cut miters...that is the hardest part. If you want it to be even easier they sell decorative corner pieces so no miters are needed. Try going on DIY.com...they have lots of free instructions on there.

I fyou have 90 degree angles it should be easy. You can also buy corner pieces, so you don't have to miter anything.

I agree with this. My DH put up crown molding in the baby's nursery and it looks great. Other than the miters, the other aspect you need to watch is whether or not the walls are plumb. In most houses, they're not and you will see a gap between the molding and the wall so check that out before you start.

a trick for filling in the gaps between the molding and wall is caulk. You can get caulk at HD that doesn't even require a caulk gun. Plus you can paint it after it dries.

Re: Crown Molding-- how hard is it really?
thanks everyone-- we are going to be doing a fairly small space-- the bathroom.. I guess if that goes well, we can try it in our bedroom-- we have it throughout our apt-- and thought of it in the bathroom cause we were a little messy while painting and it goes with the look in the bathroom anyway..
