Cruel and horrrible joke... WHY?
I am sorry if I rant... haven't had any time to cool down yet. Please let me know if this type of thing has happened to any of you.
I got a call from a Long Island #. I hear, "Hi can I speak to ******** *******, the mother of the new baby?"  In disbelief, I said,
" WHAT? This is she, but I don't have a baby!" I was prepared, and asked "Is this some kind of joke? Where did you get my number?!?!"
She said, "I don't know, but your name was put on the baby list." She said "I have no way of knowing how we got your name."
Despite my efforts not to, I choked up. I said "this is some horrible joke someone is playing on me. I'm having fertility issues and this is not right". She said, "Oh I am so sorry" - and hung up.
There is a name on the caller ID, but it's not an organization.
This isn't the first time something like this has happened. A month ago, I got an issue of Parents magazine in the mail with a "thank you for your recent subscription' email to follow up.  I called the subscription manager and demanded to know *** that was all about. again, they said they didn't know who enrolled me.
What gives? Has anyone had this happen? DH said "maybe you filled out a survey online". Yeah, but I'd never put down that I have kids. I'm soo so so so so hurt, angry and frustrated about this.

Oh, that's just awful! I'm sorry you had to deal with that. All I get is what seems like weekly mailings from Babies R Us.

OMG that is crazy!!! About a month ago I got a box of free baby formula and about 6 months ago I also had parenting magazine send me magazines that I NEVER signed up for!!!
I think maybe ur DH is right, we signed up for some site that maybe sold our info to another company?? IDK but at the wrong time it does hurt.....sorry that happened to you!

OMG!!! I am soooo sorry that happened to you if its a joke its one of the cruelest I could think of...I am hoping that its a mistake and another human being would not do that to you consciously.

I always get the pottery barn kids catalog I am assuming because I have bought stuff from there for baby showers, it sucks.

It is so crazy that this happened to before. Do you think someone who has learned about your struggle, is trying to hurt you? People can be so hurtful, and I pray that this is not the case.

RGE I can't think of a single person. I don't have enemies! who knows...DH also thinks that maybe the insurance company is selling info. Maybe?

Im sorry. That's terrible! Could it be that places like BBB and BRU sell lists?
I've also heard of people getting formula when they don't have kids or when their kid is like 7?!

That is insane and crazy!! I try to believe in the good in people so I cannot fathom that someone would be playing a joke. Maybe chalk it up to coincidence??
