Cruise Bermuda-fair price?
Hi, we have never been on a cruise before and really have an itch to try it. Never been to Bermuda and want to go. Do not want to cruise new england/canada right now. and want to ideally take off from ny or nj. Found a cruise 5 night - but only two days in Bermuda for two people $2638. from what i understand this includes all meals and most drinks. is this a good price? i been pricing around and it seems about the same everywhere for August but i found some longer stays for about the same price but we don't want to be gone that long. I;d appreciate your feedback-thanks!

Re: Cruise Bermuda-fair price?
It depends what kind of room it is for.
We've taken Celebrity to Bermuda for a 7 day cruise with an outside room for 900 bucks a person.
That price seems really high unless you're going for a balcony room.

Re: Cruise Bermuda-fair price?
We just priced cruises to Bermuda and that seems high to me, but it depends on the type of room.

Re: Cruise Bermuda-fair price?
I just looked at my travel club brochure, Royal Carribean 5 day cruise from NJ shouldnt cost you that much unless you're going for a balcony room on the most expensive week of hte year. IMO for a five day cruise, you dont need a balcony room. I also wouldnt go on the most expensive week, I would opt for a week or two before or a week or two after and save myself nearly 1K

Re: Cruise Bermuda-fair price?
It really depends on a number of factors - it seems high for 5 days BUT as I said it depends on a number of factors.
what cruiseline? what category room? inside? balcony? suite? when is the cruise - june, july, sept? etc?
Generally cruises include all main meals (buffets and main dining room) - but many cruise lines have specialty restaurants that are extras (like RCCL has johnny rockets, or other cruise lines have steak restaurants etc) those have a surcharge. Drinks are generally free - if you want tea, coffee, ice tea or ice coffee, juice for breakfast, some have lemonade. You will have to pay for soda, alcohol (although the lines have a soda card where you pay x amount for unlimited sodas during the week).
Just a word of warning. Depending on when you want to travel - if you are going during busy hurricane season (and if you are going to bermuda you probably will be) keep in mind if a hurricane comes up the coast it isn't unusual for the cruise ship to be detoured to canada for the week instead of bermuda.

Re: Cruise Bermuda-fair price?
I have to agree that the fair sounds high for a 5 day cruise and obviously no air fare. We've done 7 day cruises for less than that with more stops including air fare.
One website I like to use to see pricing for the exact weeks I have in mind or for the area I have in mind is www.vacationstogo.com. Click on "find a deal" on the left side and you can narrow down the cruise line, the area to visit, the month (any or all) and it will give you a full listing of what's available. I always leave the cruise line blank so that I can compare pricing between the different companies and go with the best price.
Hope that helps!

Re: Cruise Bermuda-fair price?
We went on NCL which is a 7 day cruise (an extra day in Bermuda) and it cost us $3,500 for 4 people.
