Cruise/Passport Question
Sorry if this is a stupid question but I've never been on a cruise before. My passport is still in my maiden name. If some of the ports I'm visiting are not US territories, do I need to have my passport with me on the cruise in order to disembark (the cruise itself departs from FL)? Also, would my reservation need to match the name on my passport? Thanks!

Re: Cruise/Passport Question
Unfortunately you would need your passport in order to get back onto the boat if you are not in US territories. Also, the reservation MUST match what is on your passport as they will check your cruise card & passport when coming back aboard the ship
I think the marriage license & birth certificate could also work but I am not 100% sure..Call the cruise line to be sure

Re: Cruise/Passport Question
You can apply for a new passport and pay extra for it to be rushed. If you are leaving soon, just bring your marriage license. Everytime you get off the ship, you will need your license since your passport and cruise card will not match.

This is true until the end of the year. But then you have to have a passport.
We are actually leaving on NYE on our cruise and we all got passports.

Re: Cruise/Passport Question
Thanks for all the help! I'm not leaving until after the New Year, so I should have time to update my passport. Good to know!

I actually can't do it until mid-November because I have an international flight already booked in my maiden name I think I'll just have to pay for the expedited version.

Re: Cruise/Passport Question
If you can change the ticket info on the cuise over to your maiden name you shouldn't have a problem...I just did this with a cruise and it was fine!
