Cruisin....
We might take a cruise next year with My SIL BIL and all the kids. We are looking at Carnival cause I have been on Carnival before and Like it. Is it better to book early or wait?

Re: Cruisin....
I am gong on a Carnival cruise in July and went on one last February. I would probably book as soon as you know when you want to go just because they do fill up quickly- especially depending on the time of year and where the destination is.
Where are you thinking about cruising to?

Re: Cruisin....
I've been on 2 carnival cruises and I'm going on another one this July. They are a lot of fun for young people and families. I've done the western caribbean (mexico, grand caymen and jamaica), really beautiful. If you want any specific info fm me

Re: Cruisin....
Cruises it's hard to say. I've booked cruises sailing in April 2007 and when I went to rebook the rooms as the cruise line did not hold the extension the cruise fare went down but the taxes and fees had gone up. Total cruise fare in the end was less by $20 of the initial booking.
It all depends on the time of year, season, destination and ship.
Sometimes if you book on line you can get it cheaper.
If you book and the cruise fare goes down it doesnt hurt to contact the cruise line and see if you could get an on board credit.

Re: Cruisin....
I usually book about 3 months in advance. Shop around, there are great sites that give great deals.
We have used cruise411.com and saved hundreds compared to what Carnival quoted me. We used them for our cruise on the Triumph and Destiny.
We just used Expedia for our cruise on the Miracle and we got a category upgrade and 6 months of netflix when booking.
Good Luck and Happy Cruising!
Be sure to check out cruisecritic.com for info on ships, ports, etc.

I did that one too... we were on the Carnival Paradise. Tons of fun!!!!
For my first 2 cruises which were in the caribbean (carnival and Costa) I booked late (2 months ahead) and got GREAT DEALS! There are so many in the Caribbean from all the different lines available that we weren't worried about being them all being sold out, since we weren't set on a specific cruise. For my Mediteranean Cruise (princess) we booked about 5 months head of time. If you have a big group of people you might want to book earlier though.

Re: Cruisin....
just and FYI: A group is considered 8 cabins or more.
Groups are great because if you have 16 cabins, you get 1 for 15 which means the 16th berth is free but the person is required to pay the taxes.
Amenity points are also awarded. Amenity points add to the cruise experience. Things like champagne in every stateroom, on board credit, casino chips, wine and crackers in every state room and more....
Groups you do want to do earlier because often their are cabin restrictions. Restrictions like you can only have so many triples and quads.
Anything with a group you want to do as early as possible and get a deposit on them as early as possible. if you have rooms in your allotment that do not have a deposit on it inventory control will take them back.
Groups are always best to do early.
