Curious about sleeping time...

In talking about the future and what we'd do with our kids when we both work full time, the question came up:

How long till your baby would sleep for 6hrs at night? TIA!

Re: Curious about sleeping time...

I think it really depends on the baby. My DS was sleeping 6 hour streches at night at 6 weeks and now at 4 months he sleeps about 12 hours at night. My nephew is 8.5 months and still wakes up once a night for a snack and my SIL can't get ride of that snack she is tired numerous tricks and it wont work. My youngest neice (her youngest daughter) was a great sleeper and slept through the night early also and I dont remeber with the oldest.

My son is almost 3 months and has been sleeping 6 hr stretches for 2 weeks or so now. I cant even remember with my first 2 but I think it was about the same.

Both my kiddies are great sleepers (ducking the tomatoes being thrown Chat Icon ). I can't say for sure when they went 6+ hours, but by 3 months, both were sleeping 12 hour nights.

You never know... don't plan on these things because every baby is different. My fussmonster didn't start sleeping for 6 hour stretches+ until 8 months!! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Curious about sleeping time...

Let me add that Ava's 6 hr. stretches aren't necessarily at convenient times, either. We try to keep her up until 10 or 11, so that when she wakes up, it's a reasonable hour, but lately, she wants to go to sleep at 8:30, so she's gets up to eat at 2:30-3:30Chat Icon She goes back down until 7:30-8:30 after that, but still, you have to get up in the middle of the night and feed her.
