Custom Cakes???
I am looking for someone to make a custom cake for my DD 1st birthday, Any Recommendations?
I already got a "quote" from Dortoni and the Sugar Chic. Just looking for a few more recommendations.

I'm in the same boat as you - trying to find a custom cake. I love the Sugar Chic's but she hasn't gotten back to me with a quote yet.
If I find anyone else, I'll let you know. I wasn't that impressed with Dortoni's cakes on their site.
The other places I've looked into are too far.

Sugar Coated Inc. in Brooklyn is awesome. I tried to get her to do DD's Christening cupcakes, but she was booked. I am meeting with her in August to discuss DD's 1st b-day cake (She's a Christmas baby...we're not having a "party")
Check her out...

I absolutely love her cake. We've used her a gazillion times - mom's 50th, nephew's 1st, niece's 1st...you get the drift. She's in CT but it's really not far. Not sure where you are though...

my mom had my shower cake done at madame butterfly in Babylon and could NOT stop raving about it - both the customer service and the price, etc..
delicious does not do it justice and it was STUNNING!!!

Although I live in SI, these 2 places deliever. The first one did my older son's 1sr birthday (he is featured on her site, its a #1 with Mickey Mouse).
The second one is doing my younger sons 1st birthday cake

That is who I use and she is very reasonable. You can check my daughter's 1st birthday cake in my photo album.. The cake was awesome and she does anything...
