Ugh,,I did that once and thought I had to take her to the ER for a stitch!
We put ointment on it, wrapped a piece of gauze around it and put a band aid over it.

I did this to DS when he was just under 2 months....bled like heck! I just put a bandaid on it and it eventually stopped. Its probably the tiniest cut ever, fingertips just bleed a lot. good luck, I hope it stops soon!

in the future, try filing her nails instead of cutting them....
I do that (with my emory board) and have never had an issue

Apply pressure to the cut with gauze or tissue, and hold her hand/finger above her heart. Keep the pressure there for a few minutes (as long as she'll let you) and then apply ointment once the bleeding has stopped.
I did this to Gianna, and I felt terrible. The bleeding stopped quickly for me (following the directions above). I still use nail clippers on Gianna, but I use my nail to move the skin away from her nail first.

I tried using an emory board AND one of those long, rectangular buffers they use in the nail place. Both of them irritated Gianna's skin when I tried filing her nails (it rubbed against the tip of her finger and she would freak out). I wish it would have worked for us!

Did you use a baby emery board?
I bought mine in BRU.
To the OP, I have done this twice. Just clean it off and apply pressure. I did not even use a bandaid, I was afraid of her swallowing it. But if you must or if you want to use one, put a sock over that hand to keep the bandaid in place.
I was upset for days for hurting my DD, still bothers me now mths later. I just file now...but it's hard, they grow so fast and she hates when I touch them.
