Cutting down your own christmas tree
Does anyone know a round about of what it costs to cut down your own tree? DH and i are going next week. TIA!

I think last year we paid $50 or $60 for the tree...that's any size though.

Thanks thats not too bad. We paid $50 for a precut tree last year and it was dying in almost 3 weeks.

A friend of mine was just talking about this and she said it was about the same price listed above - I think that is pretty reasonable!

we do this everyyear, it really depnds on what type of tree you get and how tall it is, but it can range from $40 and up.

wow - i had no idea lewin's did that.
and now that i think about it - when we went apple picking i saw what looked like christmas trees on the property - all in rows. duh! that must be what they are there for.

That's how we found out too. We went for apples and for pumpkins and we saw the trees. DH & I were talking about it when we went back to the stand to get roasted corn & the kid behind the counter told us that it was theirs and that they had a cut your own tree and also pre-dug/balled trees as well.

We go to Shamrock in Mattituck...they cut the tree down and it's one price for all the trees.
