Probably not, since that's a Town of Oyster Bay beach. But you can use it at Jones Beach!

No, you have to get a separate pass for TOBAY.... that is a town beach. The Empire state pass is for all State parks and beaches (Jones is a state beach).

This is actually kind of funny. Even though its a good deal, I will wait and see what the summer brings. A county official recently told my DH that it is unlikely that Jones or Robert Moses will be operating normally by summer.

I'd be nervous to buy this now.

Wow, that's kinda messed up. I wonder if this is a money making scam on their part if no one will be buying passes this summer!

there was a small disclaimer on the site about checking which parks are affected. there's really no telling how they will be come springtime, right? i bet they are doing this to try to boost the sales since they are expected to go down this year. very sad all around.

Makes sense. Why buy a pass if the beaches aren't open. So sell them now to recoup the projected loss

I don't live on LI, though we do make trips down for the beach. But if you do any kind of traveling in NY, there are awesome parks all over the state. Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess (and Rockland, I'd imagine, though I don't know much about that county) all have several great parks and aren't too far for a day trip for LI/NYC people. And there are other great non-beach state parks on LI. I've never bought a pass but we easily spend more than $40 a year on entry fees.

Rockland has Rockland Lake State Park(that's where we mainly use our pass).
On LI though, I have used it on the North Shore at Caumsett and Sunken Meadow (as well as Robert Moses).

I bought one for each car. We use it all the time at Caumsett and Planting Fields. I did read that Planting Fields is closed at this time due to Hurricane Damage, but Caumsett trails are open... With the amount of times we head to Caumsett to bike ride or hike with the kids, it's well worth it to me!

Yes, the regular price is $65. That covers unlimited visits. Parking fees per day vary from $8-$10 depending on the day of the week and the time of the year.

The regular parking fee for state parks is 10$ (I think, or it could be 8.. but, no more than 10). This pass is usually 65$ and it gets you into all the state parks free for the year. IF you go to the beach a lot it is totally worth it. (Jones or Robert Moses) It all gets you into the planting fields and a bunch of other really nice places.
It's a great deal. However, when you buy it on this sale it mentions that many of the state parks may not open. If Jones Beach isn't open it would not be worth it for me.
