Cystoscopy

Cystoscopy: A cystoscopy is a test which uses a special camera to look inside the bladder and urine tract.

I just had this test done and I'm warning everyone about it. OMG Painful Painful Painful. I was lied to by many telling me it isn't so bad, it's more uncomfortable then painful, etc etc etc.

LIARS! Hurt like a MOFO.

My advice to anyone that may have to get this test done - make sure they give you something to numb it first or take something that will knock you out. I wish someone had warned me.

It wasn't long. 30 seconds at best. But 30 seconds of sheer agony and now dealing with the after effects. Finally started to settle down 3 hours later.

OUCHHHHYYYYY

P.S. I'm not a baby with pain. I've had my share of invasive procedures. I've even passed 4 kidney stones in my lifetime without any drugs. THIS WAS HORRIBLE. Think Razors Blades on Fire

Phyllis, I had a cystoscopy too. It was very uncomfortable!! And when the Dr. asked if I wanted to watch the screen, to see my bladder, I'm think'in, "You have got to be kidding me!!" How 'bout we trade places, and tell me if you want to look at the screen, while a Dr. is performing this procedure on you!!! Sorry, hon!!!! Feel better!!!! Mary

I am so sorry you had to go through this. I agree with you about the pain.
It's funny, I was talking to a dear friend this week about a procedure I was going to have and then I said, "I'm sure it won't be that bad, I had a cystoscopy." Nothing compares to it.

So glad it's over for you! How are you feeling now???

Thanks Ladies.
I'm feeling 1000x better. It hurt the whole day and a lil the day after, but now I have just a small amount of pain.

I really had to warn people because I wish someone had been honest with me. I would have made sure I was medicated at least. I get nauseous every time I think about it.
