Cysts and Pregnancy
Has anyone been or know of anyone who was diagnosed with a cyst when they were pregnant. I am 8 weeks pregnant and the Dr. found a cyst on my ovary about 14cm.
Advice/Help would be appreciated.

Re: Cysts and Pregnancy
Having a cyst is very common in PG and probably means nothing. But I do have to say for me it meant something. It was the beginning for me for my Endometriosis. I was diagnosed with Stage IV "severe" Endo in Dec. and needed surgery. At that point it was really bad, but when they found the first cyst I had was with my first son 3 years ago around the same time, 8 weeks along. At the time they didn't know for sure if it was Endo, but apparantely it was, just not as bad.
Most cysts will go away during PG. Most people don't have to worry about it though.
Good luck, and I'm sure it's nothing!

Re: Cysts and Pregnancy
I had a HUGE one on my left ovary for many many weeks. In fact, for all I know its still there. The Dr. and tech haven't mentioned it in awhile b/c its not really an issue so they're not concerned about it. Try not to stress. they usually go away by around the 13th week or so when the placenta is fully working.

Re: Cysts and Pregnancy
Thank you so much for all of your responses. I was told that if it doesn't decrease I would have to have surgery between 11 and 15 weeks. I also was given a blood test to test for cancer marker levels(CA 125) and my level was 28.5 and anything below 35 is considered "normal". I was referred to a gyn/oncologist for evaluation.
