Damn Rogue Waves--my crazy day
Today me and my boyfriend headed out to montuak at 7am..made great time..had an awesome pancake breakfast by the beach..settled ourselves on the beach quite some distance from the actual water...we had so much fun taking tons of pics...hanging out..and around 2pm out of NOWHERE a HUGE and I mean HUGE wave came out of nowhere and literally hit us on the beach (even tho we were originally nowhere near the shore line) and ALL of our stuff was ruined....our clothes were soaked.. BOTH of our cameras were destroyed AND my cell phone 
I am soooooo bummed, all our stuff was ruined, thankfully my bf is currently trying to dry it all out but I think its a total loss--every1 around us was scooping their stuff out of the water for some time. it was totally scary, if u saw where we were on the beach in relation to the water u could never imagine how this wave hit us
need some vibes that my cell and our cameras work by some miracle tomorrow..

i just read somewhere that if you drop your cell phone in water DO NOT attempt to turn it on - let the battery and the phone dry out for two days and then try to turn it on
if you can wait that long it may not short and then you may be able to save it

 There were some scary waves at the beach I went to today also! I've never seen them that big or crash that far up the sand as I did today! I hope your stuff is ok

sorry that happened to you!
Did this with DHs cell phone and it worked FINE!!!!!!! He took the battery out and put it on the radiator (it was winter time). Worked for months until the contract was up and we got a new phone.
I also ran DHs digital camera over with my car and that worked for a few months. Needless to say i didn't live that one down for a LONG time!

I dropped my phone in my dogs water dish and I just took the battery out and let it dry over night...it works fine....def try to let it air dry and if it doesn't work, i would just piss and moan to the phone company and try to get a new phone

they can tell when it gets wet- I tried that once- there is something that changes color when it gets wet

Yup, when you take the battery out it is a little white and pink papery thing. It turns red from what I remember.

yep- that was it- DH has gotten 3 cell phones wet in the last 2 years- and I am sorry to say - they have never worked again
I just tried to turn on the one that got wet in FL - they even cleaned it at the verizon store for him- and it doesn't turn on
if you have insurance it will cover it

Dh dropped his in the water once too...and he told Verizon that his nephew threw it in the toilet and that he wanted a new phone....he didn't have insurance on it...he just compained enough and they gave him a new one

Do you have a personal articles rider on any of your insurance policies? I'm assuming 2 cameras and a cell would add up to more than a $500 deductible, right?
