Date night at 5 weeks?

So... there's a concert we reaaaallly want to go to- but it's on May 2nd. IF my son arrives on time, he will be... 5 1/2 weeks old. Is that too early for a night out without him? My parents are available for babysitting, not that I asked. But is that too soon?

Re: Date night at 5 weeks?

I don't think it's too soon. My friend went on a date night 3 weeks after giving birth. She just needed that for herself and her DH.

Rock out.

If he takes a bottle then it will be fine. I know I wont be able to go out that soon. Not for more than an hour or two with nursing. (unless pumping works for me)

I don't think it's to soon at all. If he'll be with a reliable sitter go for it!!

Re: Date night at 5 weeks?

My DD was 3 weeks on Christmas and my DH really wanted to go see his family for Christmas. We decided it was best to leave DD home with my mom. We were gone 10am - 8pm. She was fine. I was a nervous wreck, calling every hourChat Icon and couldn't wait to get home, but it was nice to get out of the house and socialize a little.

I ended up catching a stomach bug from one of his germy cousins, so I was sooooo grateful I decided to leave DD home!! Even more grateful she didn't catch it from me.
