David Letterman’s mother Dorothy Mengering dies at the age of 95
Dorothy Mengering, the mother to the legendary Late Show host David Letterman, has died at the age of 95.
She died on Tuesday and no further details about her death will be released until Wednesday, said a representative for David Letterman.
The saddening news comes a day before the funnyman's 70th birthday on Wednesday.
Mengering was a lovable mother-of-three from Indiana who made special appearances on the Late Show, where she interviewed Hillary Clinton and showed off her famed sour cherry pies.
