Day 1 of a 6:15am run!

I am finding I am not motivated to run in the afternoon, and sometimes I have too many other things to get done. So now that it's light out and warmer, I am doing the morning thing.

Today was great, 4 miles, showered and out of the house by 8:15!

Anyone else run in the morning???

ME!! 5-6 miles at 5:45am Chat Icon

Today was a 6:15 spin class .. I love being done with my workouts in the AM, however when I start training next month all workouts except weekend long run are in the PM!

Congrats on your early morning run...you're not alone!

Re: Day 1 of a 6:15am run!

yeah I was just thinking about it today. Once I get my endurance back, I will need to give myself more time when I want to increase the distance.

I toggle with working out in the am or pm. I love getting it over with, but I have to get out of bed by 5am the latest to workout in order to get to work on time. I find that very difficult most days. What is your motivation? Also my gym is in my house, so the motivation is all from me.

now that it is nice outside I throw on my clothes & go outside to run. When I lay there debating all I need to remember is, it'll be over in 45 minutes! And my summer clothes will fit better if I get up!Chat Icon

This is my problem...In order to do what I have to do in the a.m., I would have to be out the door by 5 a.m. I just can't seem to do it, so I am running in the evening right now. I try to bring my stuff to work and go to the park. If I come home, I'll find a reason not to go.

That was the problem I was having, once home, I am not leaving! I am luck I do not have to leave until about 8:15 to be at work. If I had to be in earlier it would not happen. And my DH is just leaving for work when I am getting up, so I get to see him and there is not much reason to stay in bed any longerChat Icon

I did 4 miles this morning. Tommorrow might ran in the AM, so it might be my day of rest! I feel great this week!

I wish that I could workout in the mornings but I have to be at work so early. A friend of mine gets up at 4 am to run before work but I could NEVER do that!
