Day 3 of no power.
I am loosing it over here!!!!!!!!!
Thank God we have our inlaws who are about 20 minutes away and they havent been hit with the outage, but most of our family has lost power that is in our area.
I never do this but please pray my pipes don't freeze, I can't handle this!

yikes!! I hope you get power back soon and that your pipes don't freeze. Does leaving a faucet running help keep the water moving?

That sucks. You are in the OC right? My family and a lot of my friends are still up there and it seems like things are pretty bad all over. I hope they get it turned on soon.

Re: Day 3 of no power.
Same with my poor mom...no power since Thursday. They're not expecting it back on until mid-week next week (she lives in the mountains in Sullivan County).
I feel horrible for her, thankfully she does have a small generator so she's warm, but with an electric stove she can't cook, has no TV, phone, internet (no cell service where she lives)...has a well with an electric pump so she can't shower, flush, etc. Obviously no take-out or delivery in her area. Obviously people have had it tougher, but it does stink for her (and I remember going through it when I grew up there, and we DIDN'T have the generator yet).

Thanks everyone, as of right now our house is at 44 degrees so hopefully the weather will stay somewhat warm.

Re: Day 3 of no power.
Did you try draining out the water lines from the basement, as if you were winterizing the house? If you don't have any running water anyway, then no sense in having water in the lines.
DH and I are headed up that way tomorrow morning to check out the damage (or more hopefully, lack thereof).
