Day Batmitzvah,no party what to wear
This is for my niece, no party just a lunch at temple, and the service. My mom said she is buying a basic black dress but is a dress necessary? What would you wear?

I'd wear a dress. But that's just me. Probably something like what I would wear to work- dress or pants and a nice blouse.

I've been to the same and wore a dress. Most men were in suits and women in dresses. But definitely not all - some people were a little more casually dressed. As explained to me, although everyone gets very dressed for the big party, the ceremony is the really important part so dressing up is the right thing to do ( not dressed up like if there was a big party, but dressed nicely)
