Day camps Nassau county
Can anyone recommend an affordable daycamp for a 5 yr old with lots of outdoors activities? Thanks. ( He is going into Kindergarten in Sept.)

Re: Day camps Nassau county
we've used maplewood in watagh, and hofstra so far. he seemed to like both. maplewood is in wantagh, hofstra is uniondale. there is also merrick woods in merrick, twin oaks in freeport. south shore in bellmore. where exactly are you looking?

Re: Day camps Nassau county
Not sure if you're looking for all day or half day...
We sent DD to Merrick Community when she was 3...it is a camp for preschoolers only - ages 3-6...
It was half day. It was great...small groups...outside a lot...a small filtered wading pool...nice ratio between staff and students.

Re: Day camps Nassau county
Thanks for everyones responses.
I am in Merrick and my son goes to Merrick community and went there for camp last year. I love the school but was thinking he was ready for a little more structure at camp this year. He loves playing structured sports which they don't offer. Plus, my son can swim and they only have an 18 inch pool. I think he is way too big for that. He likes to go off the diving board at the public pool so a wading pool just seems too small.
I have looked into all those camps mentioned above but they're all really expensive and I only work parttime.
Maybe we will have to spend the few extra bucks.
Thanks

JCC oceanside, long beach or little bear in merrick, the JCC just also purchased Robin hood but they are about 5500. JCC is much less
