Daycare Moms-did your DC adjust to naps eventually

So, DD has been home since birth and is heading to nursery school in Sept...full time...never been away from home....at the center she will be going to, she will be napping on a cot! I havent seen them yet but i wonder about her naps..she is doing so great wtih them at home, sleeps through the night...but she is almost 20 months so it took a ton of work to get here, lol

I am just freaked about it all and prob havent slept in over a week since enrolling her!

DD started daycare at 12 months. It took about a week for her to get used to napping there. She did nap, but it was for very short bouts because the other kids would wake her up. That was in the infant room though... now that they are all on the same schedule and have the same nap time she sleeps the whole nap time (12-2) sometimes they all sleep longer other times if someone wakes up she will wake up too. she is 17 1/2 months.

try not to stress about it.. im sure it will all work out.

I literally was going to post the same thing word for word. Except I work F/T but DD always was in a crib at a babysitters alone. Now I had to find new daycare and the nap schedule there is 2 hours later than she normally naps, and it will be a cot vs. a crib??? I don't understand why it has to be a cot? Chat Icon But anyway, I have been stressing about this all summer.

I am really struggling..sometimes we just dont have a choice but i swear, i love my baby so much and i hate that i have to pull her out of home...everyone keeps telling me,it is going to be harder on you but i still worry..it is my personality!
To make matters worse, my nanny is a great person and I have to let her go...she is costing me an arm and a leg

As far as nap times, place i found has the EXACT same schedule as my DD but it is the nap thing with no crib, lol...my child rolls like a maniac and has white noise in her nursery as she is so sensitive to noise..i am thinking a month for her to adjust lol....i try to joke about it but i am serious, i havent slept in a week...i think the worst part is waiting until Sept, wish in a way it could be done sooner...

Having the SAME issue here! DD is 16 months old and starting daycare this week (2X a week) so she has time to adjust before starting full time in September. She usually takes a 2 hour nap (sometimes longer) and sleeps in her crib with a white noise machine. She will now be sleeping on a cot, with other children, and I'm so worried she won't be able to sleep. The director at daycare keeps reassuring me that she will adjust but I am VERY nervous Chat Icon

Its reassuring to hear everyone say that all kids adjust to this in daycare. I worry so much my DD will have a hard time. But I dont' have much of a choice, maybe she will just pass out on the way home and I will carry her up to sleep..for the night...at 4pm..lol (not really lol) Chat Icon

Abby did. With evey room she was in, there was a different way she slept but she ALWAYS adjusted.

I can only speak for AJ

Two daycares, four rooms with three types of sleeping areas.

She's going onto a 3rd here in August. She's always just adjusted. Takes about a week but nothing bothersome.
