Daycare question regarding pricing

Hello-

I hope this makes some sort of sense. I send my son to day care full time and was thinking of sending him part time to save some money. Anyway, lets just say the place charges 70 a day, which is 350 a week. When I asked about 3 days they told me the price would be 250 which is almost 85 a day and then when I asked about 2 days, they told me 200. Can they charge whatever they want based on the number of days? I would be filling another persons part time schedule so that would be a full time position.

Thanks!

To discourage part timers, or going to part time, most places will charge more per day.

When I was looking at daycares I found the same pricing scale. It costs more for PT then FT when broken down per day. I am assuming it is to push you toward FT

I just had this talk with my day care provider. Would you believe that she charges $75 a day for part time regardless of hours. You are best going full time. I have my son in an in home daycare and it's a little more cost effective - not much but it's something.

Re: Daycare question regarding pricing

Usually there is no daily rate-

Just flat:
5 day
3 day
or
2 day

Its almost like the more you come the less per day it would be-
