Daycare questions for teachers especially
I am curious to find out what everyones daycare does regarding time off that teachers have. Lets say for instance Christmas week, Presidents week, Easter Vacation, do you get charged for those weeks? Also, what about summers? Just trying to see what other places do.
Thanks!

Re: Daycare questions for teachers especially
i am using a private person so our agreement is thats i will not be paying her for the summer b/c sh knows its a ten month a year job.
For a day that i have off and i will have the baby say Columbus day i wil lstil pay her b/c its one day.
However when i am off for a week either at christmas, february or Easter i dont have to pay her for a whole week that i am off.
If i cancel on her for any rason i still pay. If she cancels on me i dont have to pay.
Also she doens not require this but she said people do sometimes require that on weeks off like around christmas she gets paid for half of that week. So she is doing four days a week i would pay her for two but this is not her policy just that of some people in the area

I did too, but it was my SIL watching her. I know other places charge you to hold your spot - Not sure what they do about summer's off though.

In our center- your contract states that if you are out- you have to pay half to reserve your spot...
However- if you are gonna be out a few weeks... they usually drop you and allow you to re reg.

I give my center a calendar each Sept of exactly the days that she will be there and then ones she won't. I don't pay for the days that I give them this notice in advance. However, on days that she is sick and does not attend I still pay.

Re: Daycare questions for teachers especially
My DD will start daycare in late January. The agreement states that we pay for all weeks she is not there (President's Week, Spring Break, etc.) but NOT the summer- they run on a school year schedule, you pay separately for summer "camp". I"m actually not too upset about paying for my weeks off- that way, I can drop DD off at the center occassionally for an hour or so and go for a haircut, to the doctors, etc.
