Daycare reccomendations Ronkonkoma/Hicksville areas
DH and I feel it might be good for DD to go to day care a few days a week for some socialization/structure. She is 14 months but both of our moms have taken turns watching her up until now. I will be going back to work again in Sept (I'm a teacher) and was hoping for two days a week. I work in Hicksville and live in Ronkonkoma. DH also works in Ronkonkoma. I'm not sure if I want her to be close to work or home, so figured I'd get recommendations for both. Thanks!

Daycare reccomendations Ronkonkoma/Hicksville areas
There is a Kiddie Academy in Hicksville right near the train station. I have no direct experience with them, but I do know that a co worker of my mother's had her son there and was quite happy.

I worked there for two weeks and hated it.

We used Early Discoveries in Ronkonkoma for both of our kids and loved it. Don't know if you are sachem or connetquot but they also are a part of connetquot upk program.Let me know if you have any questions.

Re: Daycare reccomendations Ronkonkoma/Hicksville areas
My 9 month old has been going to Tutor Time in Ronkonkoma since he was 12 weeks old.
It's ok...it's daycare so there are ups and downs to it. Some days I will say they were great and love it and other days I want to look for someplace new.

We had to change DS's daycare due to location, but we loved Tender Years in Bohemia.

check the nys website for violations before deciding....i went to look at KA and wasn't happy with violations (some aren't there any longer from when I was looking) but recently this uncorrected one is disturbing: July 1, 2014 418-1.8(d) Children cannot be left without competent direct supervision at any time. Not Corrected
ETA: i also wasn't happy bc the infant room reeked of pee, i didn't get a good vibe from the teachers, and I hadn't heard good things about the owners (though that is all second hand)

I use Tutor Time in Holbrook and can honestly say I have never once in our 4 years there had one moment of saying, I need to find someplace new. Not one complaint with them. She has been there since 8 weeks old and is 4 now and I cannot say enough. I don't want her to go to K next year and have to leave this place. That is how amazing I find it.
