daycare schedule?
I go back to work in a week and I am not sure how to handle my son's morning schedule so it is minmally disrupted and we all get max. sleep possible! He will be 11 weeks then and is currently sleeping from 7-8PM til 5AM if I give him a dream feed around 10/11. I am hoping he stretches that 5am to about 6 or 7 which would work fine for getting ready in the morning, but until then do I feed him at 5, put him back down and then wake him at 7:15 to dress him and run out the door? Curious to hear how others handle the morning routine.

Re: daycare schedule?
My DD sleep sched totally changed when she went to daycare. She was 4.5 months old when she started daycare though.
Pre Daycare-she used to go to bed around 9:30, wake anywhere from 7:30-8:30am.
Now, with so much going on at daycare, she gets exhausted and is down for the night at 6-6:30pm, and sleeps 12 hours, we wake her up at 6-6:30 so we can get her dressed and fed.
Our sched is like this. We both commute together so the goal is to be out the door by 7am.
6am, DH up, gets washed up/dressed 6am, me up, gets DD up, washed/dressed Around 6:30 or earlier-DH feeds DD, while i get showered 6:45am, baby is with me while DH finishes getting dressed I get dressed, and out the door we go by 7-7:15am
If she is extra sleepy or goes to bed later that night, she wil take a nap at daycare within an hour being there.
It all does really work out, I planned and overthought it more than I had too. It all fell into place. Alot of the getting ready is done the night before, like getting her clothes out, bathes, packing her bag for daycare.

Re: daycare schedule?
for a long time Sydney would wake up between 5 and 6 have a bottle and play some and then be ready for a nap close to 7. She would fall asleep and then we'd have to wake her up to leave the house by 7:30. This pattern went on for so long that we all got used to it.

Re: daycare schedule?
Nate didn't go to daycare until he was 1 year old. At first we were dropping him off at 6:30am, he would wake up around 5:30. I gave him a bottle, dress him and then we are out the door by 6:20am.
Now, he wakes up between 7 and 7:30am, he'll get his sippy cup of milk around 8am. DH drops him off around 8:15 so he can eat breakfast there.
I would just feed DS as usual when he wakes up and dress him 15-20 min before you leave incase he spits up. Do as much of your diaper bag prep the night before if possible. It will make the mornings less hectic.

Re: daycare schedule?
I guess it will all work itself out. I feel like I"m just getting into a good routine with him and have to change it up again...although I realize this will be the case until he is in college!

Re: daycare schedule?
DH and I get up at 6AM I shower and get dressed then he does. We have to wake the kids at 7:00 and dress them and head out by 7:20. The babysitter gives them breakfast when they get there.
