DC with Bdays within days of each other?? Anyone?
We are TTC and it didn't happen for us this month and if we try again now this new baby's EDD will be within a week of my DC Bday.
Just wondering if anyone has children with Bdays so close.
How do you deal with parties?
If the DC are old enough, how do they feel about it?

My friend from college just had a baby on her son's 2nd b-day. Same exact day, 2 years apart. This just happened the other day, so who knows what they'll do in the future. Joint parties I guess.

Well, same day here
We are planning on doing a joint party until about age 5 or so then separate parties, probably one the weekend before their birthday and one the weekend after

My sons are two weeks apart - Aug 14 and 29 (3 yr difference). My second son was just born this past August so I'm not sure how we'll handle parties. Probably together until they get older.

My friend just gave birth to a little girl who was born 2 days after her twin sisters birthday. 3 girls with birthdays all in the same week.
Honestly though, I would just go for it. You don't know if you will get pregnant this month or not and you could always deliver early or late! Just BD and enjoy yourself

Mine are May 6th and May 9th. Just 3 days shy of two years. Never any issues, they just will have combined parties until they are old enough to live on their own

Re: DC with Bdays within days of each other?? Anyone?
DS#1 is Feb 19th and DS#2 is Feb 22nd. Tey'll have their first combined b'day this coming February. This year we're combining them and having two cakes. Since they are both boys we might get away with it longer. Otherwise, down the raod we might have to have one kids birthday party the weekend before and the other the weekend afterwards. This is when they start school. It all depends on what they like and how many friends we are talking about. It would be hard to have a kids party with 40-60 kids at one shot.
I say....no parties. Ahhh, in the perfect world.

My SIL has 4 kids. The oldest 2 which are 3 yrs apart have their b-days 3 days apart in the fall. The youngest 2 which are 1 yr apart are a few days apart in the spring so so far she has lucked out with only planning 2 parties. Not sure what she'll do when they are older though since they are boy, girl, girl, boy order.

Re: DC with Bdays within days of each other?? Anyone?
I have a few friends with DC's birthdays within days of each other and they usually just do joint parties for them. I thought that was actually easier in the long run and the kids don't seem to mind as long as they get their own birthday cakes.

My brother and I have bdays 2 weeks apart and we are actually the same age for those two weeks (haha!!)
Anyway... I remember doing joint family parties for the most part (we didnt really do friend parties in my family).
I never cared and we always got to pick what we wanted for dinner on our actual bdays which was always the bs part anyway haha!

My kids are Oct 19 and 25th. We are having a combined family party and Jack is having a party with his friends. Molly isn't old enough to even know about friend parties, but when the time comes I'll let them have separate friend parties.

Re: DC with Bdays within days of each other?? Anyone?
My niece and nephew are 8/15 and 8/18 but 6 years apart. So far, they have always had joint parties but my sister got them their own cakes, and had different "goodies" from each theme.
I remember I used to work with a woman who had 2 girls exactly 1 year apart. She said her girls HATED having to share their birthday with their sister. She said they would ruin each other's cakes (even if the parties were on different days) and all kinds of other horrible stuff. They eventually outgrew the animosity, but for a long time it was terrible. This is the only family I've known of that had a problem, so maybe it was just that these girls would have had problems with one another regardless of their birthday.
I wouldn't let the idea of a new baby being born around the same date as a sibling be a deterrant from TTC.
Good luck.

You never know if you'll deliver early or late.
My brother and I were born a week apart. We always had separate parties, a week apart. Once we became adults, we actually celebrated with our family on the weekend in between our birthdays. It made it much easier on those around us. And our mom always made us each our favorite cakes. So it was a two cake party! BONUS!!!

I wouldn't worry - my brothers are one day apart. They had seperate parties when they were going to school sometimes and other years my parents combined them. Have fun TTC

Re: DC with Bdays within days of each other?? Anyone?
I am the oldest of 5 and the first 3 of siblings are all in one month. Our birthdays are Nov. 3rd, Nov. 7th and Nov. 21. My birthday is the 7th then 5 years later my bro was born on the 21st. His first and my 6th birthday was combined and that was the last combined party we had. My mother also never had huge parties for and it was also immediate family so it was always done on our birthdays.

Re: DC with Bdays within days of each other?? Anyone?
my mom had myself and my 2 brothers within 20 days of one another...and my birthday was right on fathers day. So my bday is June 20th, my older brother is July 5th and my younger brother is July 10th.
Family birthdays my brothers were combined and my family birthday was always combined with Fathers Day.
Friend birthdays we ALWAYS got our own party with our own friends. We never had issues with it!

Re: DC with Bdays within days of each other?? Anyone?
Thanks Ladies for your responses. I just don't want the kids to feel like their thunder is being taken away by celebrating together. I don't mind the two cakes, just thinking about once they are in school and wanting all their friends at their parties. Also I forgot to mention, DC#1 and my DH are the same horoscope and if we TTC another, this baby will also be that same horoscope I feel outruled,
