DD gave me a scare of my life last night..

Allison has been doing the rocking thing on all fours for a while now. She can also crawls once then falls on her face but when she wants something she manages to get to it.

So last night i decide i need to vacum my living room which is pretty big. we have it set up where the two couches form an L and there is about 7 feet behind the one couch that i call Allisons play area. I put her over there and i start vacuming. Something got stuck in the vacum so i turned my back to her and was emptying something in to the garbage in the kitchen. I was stanidng in the threshhold of the kitchen and living room. THANK GOD i turned back around when i did. She managed to "crawl" all the way from the other side of the living room to where i was standing. We also have a flight of stairs right there. i would say she was about 5 feet away form it but if i hadnt turned around when i dd.... I dont even want to think about it. Definitly time to install a gate there.

Just wanted to share and vent about my own stupidity!I cantbelive i turned my back on her. Thanks for listening.

Glad to hear that there's no more to this story...

We've been trying to stay well ahead of DS and what we think he might be able to eventually do. We had a gate before he could crawl. Doorknob guards before he could stand, etc. You never want to find what they can doafter they do it.

I am so glad no harm came you your DC. Let this be a reminder to all of us about how quickly things can happen when we turn our backs for just a second. Thanks for sharing.

Wow thank goodness you turned around. They definitely surprise us sometimes.
