DD is 7 months old, guess I should start CIO??

Well, sometimes I can put her in slightly awake and she goes asleep with no problem, sometimes she falls asleep to the bottle and sometimes I put her in awake but very tired and she cries...and I can't take it, I feel so bad, I go in and check after a few mins, pat her back, go out and do this a few times for about 20 mins. until I break and pick her up and rock her a little and she is out cold after 2 mins....but I guess I should start putting her in and letting her CIO like doing the ferber method? I feel so bad...help please! I know I can't rock her forever, lol

Personally I never did CIO--DS kind of sounds like your DD, and on the nights he needed more comforting (I think now it was due to teething), I comforted him. He outgrew needing the rocking and by 8 or 9 months lay right down, rolled over, and went right to sleep. Chat Icon There have been some bumps in the road when he started standing up and walking around the crib! But generally that was less than a week each time.

I agree. I don't think you need CIO for what you described. I still do this with my son when I put him down to bed. Some nights he goes down and falls right asleep, other times he needs more comforting and cuddling. We do CIO more for the middle of the night wakings.

Oh ok...yeah when she wakes up during the middle of the night and is crying if I go in there and pat her back - sometimes have to go in and out a few times, she is fine, she falls back asleep....maybe I will see for another month how she does on the times that she is slightly awake and has trouble going to sleep in the crib....light 2nite, but she is teething very bad and I had to take her out and give her Tylenol and a little bottle....I just feel so guilty w/ the crying for over 20 mins...that is my limit, 20 mins in and out patting back but more than 20 mins I have to pick her up...
