DD just won't eat table food

I have tried several different things, but all she really wants is baby food. She will eat Cheerios, yogurt, turkey, cheese, cookies, and small bites of pancakes. other than that, she spits out all other table food. Most recently, I've tried bananas and peaches since she loves them in the babyfood form but she spits the pieces out. I just don't know what to try at this point. I don't want to be sending her to college eating baby food! Chat Icon

She is 10.5 months old now and I just think she should be eating foods with more consistency. What do you think?

It sounds like she eats a decent amount of things... I wouldn't worry, just keep trying stuff and she will start eating more...

Try pastina. I make him mac and cheese with it and he LOVES it. Today I am going to try and sneek in brocolli.

I actually did try Pastina and she spit those little stars all over the place! Chat Icon Maybe I'lltry the little shells instead, as they're a little more substantial to try to chew.

I hear ditalini's are a popular food too.

How about mashed potatoes? or soft cooked carrotts. DS likes carrotts.

Don't give up on the pastina yet. I would make it into a "pudding" with applesauce because the applesauce would bind the stars together. Then, when she got used to the texture, she started eating it regular.

Good idea! I never actually considered mixing it with her baby food. I'll give that a try. Thanks.

Hayley wasn't eating table food until she right before her 1st birthday. I wouldn't rush it, just keep trying. Maybe it is the different texture she doesn't like. For the longest time Hayley wouldn't eat bananas now she loves them.
