DD playing with feet

I was wondering when my DD will start to recognize and show interest in her feet. She is 6 mos. old and I have envisioned that she would already be playing with her feet. Am I way off base? When did your DC start to pay attention to their feet?

Re: DD playing with feet

probably not far off! DD is 5 1/2 mos or so and she just found hers recently. Which is fun because she holds them when we change her diaper so we call her our little helper!

you know all babies are different - but you are right, she will probably find them soon!! don't worry about it and enjoy it when she does!Chat Icon

Re: DD playing with feet

I don't think you are way off. Steven started playing with his feet a couple weeks ago, at 4 1/2 months old. But, he likes to lay on his back a lot. So, if your DC goes on her belly a lot, then that would explain it.

Maybe if you take her feet and tell her how stinky they are and say "smell" and put them in front of her face. But make a joke out of it. This way you introduce the feetsies to her and she will start playing with them.

Thanks for your responses. I know all children progress differently. I play with her feet and she does look at them but she hasn't reached for them or tried to get them in her mouth. I'll keep watching.....it could be any day now Chat Icon

Same for Hannah - she started at 4 or 4 1/2 months. She always loved when I pretended to eat her toes and say YUMMY. I don't know why, but that got her trying to do it!!!
