Deadly crash on Southern State
Two dead in Southern State Parkway crash

At least two people have died in a possible hit-and-run involving a van on the Southern State Parkway that left several others injured, according to reports from the scene.
There were several injuries in the crash, but police were not able to give an exact number on those victims or where they were taken for treatment. Reports said the accident left the van overturned on the highway. Traffic was diverted to other roads and at one point, there was an eight-mile backup on the Southern State.
Police said the crash happened at about 6:30 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of the highway in Wantagh, near the Wantagh State Parkway. Authorities and traffic reports said all eastbound lanes of the highway were closed in that area, pending an investigation of the crash.
Another vehicle may have left the scene of the accident, prompting officials to explore the possibility that the crash was a hit-and-run. There was no description of the other vehicle; police didn't say what led them to believe another vehicle may have been involved.

i heard about this on the way to work- usually take the SS for 2 exits butchanged my route to the Meadowbrook.... it is so sad.... a lot of these accidents lately...

Actually they just impounded her car the reason is the other car took off (Black BMW) they are trying to get whatever info they can get !SO she isn't coming in tommorow but she is fine more scared then anything
