Dealing with people who can never be pleased.
How do you deal with people in your professional life who are just never pleased? Even though you know that you've gone above and beyond and done more that you're required to do, but they are just never happy and only complain. (oh, this has nothing to do with my boss/employer BTW)

Re: Dealing with people who can never be pleased.
I took a class from my job as a social worker called "dealing with difficult people". do you know in that class they said if you find that a person is difficult it is bc you are half the problem. they said when you let someone become your difficult person you are allowing them to have control of you that no one should have. So in essence you become part of the problem. I tried to relate this to some of my difficult people and I couldnt see this as being true as I actually feel like some people you could knock your head against bricks with and they are still difficult. Maybe some of the above info can help you in your issue or maybe like I said the person is just a PITA and things will never change.

Good advice! I think that this person believes he is in an authority position, when he really is not.
I guess I just don't know how to say "I do not work for you. I'm sorry you're unhappy, but there isn't anything I can do to change that"

That sounds perfect.
Just add, "Now leave me the flock alone!".

Unfortunately you just have to suck it up. There is not much you can do about it. I hate people like that.

i stop going above and beyond for them.
People, even the worst of them, can only treat you the way you Allow them to treat you.

I think we teach people how to treat us. I recommend breaking the cycle immediately.
Nip it now!

I agree! Thats partly what I learned at my seminar. Only you can let someone else control you.
