Dear John
Has anyone read it?
I usually find Nick spraks books very boring and have a hard time getting through them.
I was thinking of picking this one up because the few they seem to pick the better books to turn into movies.

Yes, read it awhile ago for book club... quick quick predictable read but of course got emotionally attached to his characters (as always).....

Im in the middle of reading it...its cute but finding it a little hard to finish.
The movie looks much better for some reason.

I just finished it. I'm not normally a huge fan of Nicholas Sparks, I've maybe read 1 or 2 books of his over the years. I also found him boring and somewhat predictable. But, it was $4 on the kindle, so I figured what the heck. I was prepared to not like it, but I have to say I really enjoyed it. Its a quick read-definitely give it a shot

I am a Nicholas Sparks fan and I thought it was one of his better books. I also enjoyed The Choice-thought it was a bit different than the usual. The movie looks good though for Dear John-I am going to see it.

I downloaded it to my kindle- read like 1 chapter of it, and decided I couldn't read it anymore- it was too boring, and just "blech" to me.
I haven't read a Nicholas Sparks in ages- but I think I must have read too many of them back in the day, because I cannot read them anymore.

It was a fast read and I enjoyed it but hated the ending. I am excited to see the movie though!

I picked it up yesterday and just finished it. I actually forgot I posted this thread, and came here to see if there was one about it hahaha.
I hate hate hate the end. I hope they change it in the movie. They did change the ending to the A Walk to Remember so I have hope. haha.
I feel like there is never any ACTION in his books. Like nothing ever really frekkin happenes!!!!
The part of their romance is great, but then its blech blah blech the rest of the book.

I picked the book up Friday, finished it yesterday.
It was a quick read. And there were parts that I loved. But overall the story really didn't go anywhere. Know major detail about Iraq. No major detail about Savannah. No major detail about John's mother.
When I was done reading the book I was left wanting more.
