Dear New Girl Starting Today
Welcome to this place, or as I refer to it as my own personal hellll.
I'm sure you are a nice person, and maybe this place will be a better fit for you, but its not for me- as I am trying to get the heck out of here as fast as possible.
Its been a blast being the only female associate. I hope you like sports, because that is all the guys talk about at lunch, when you are bold enough to intrude after they have all gone out and gotten lunch without asking if you wanted to come.
In the last year 3 of the 7 associate attorneys have left the firm. That should say something.
Good luck to you! May this place treat you better than it has treated me.

Such a shame...
I'd say you should bring it up to management when you leave so they can resolve the issue but it sounds like it's too small of a firm & you would be a woman who couldn't cut it.

In some of my jobs, I was "itching" to say something.
I can feel for you. I have been in your position. Nothing worst than waiting for the right opportunity to be able to leave. You are already mentally out but not yet physically.
But hey.... when you find that job... best feeling in the World!!!!!

I will. Ironically, when I started there was this sweet woman working here. She invited me to lunch, really helped me feel comfortable here. Then two weeks into my working here, she gave her notice. Good for her! Bad for me.
so i definitely plan on making this new girl feel as comfortable as I can. I wouldn't wish my experience for the past year on anyone.

Funny how it comes full circle, eh? I bet in a year or two, she'll be doing the SAME thing just as a NEW female associate starts her job. It's the fate of your firm, considering how they run themselves!

It stinks doesn't it...I always hated when I worked somewhere that I despised and me being in HR had to "sell" the place and hype it up..
I feel bad for you, I remember when you switched jobs
