Debt ceiling and impact on home market?
DH and I have been in the market for a home for a while now, and prices have been consistently falling - we just found a home we'd like to offer on (it would be our 5th time submitting an offer on a house) and I am feeling gun shy due to all this talk about the debt ceiling and the possibility of a "double dip" recession - all the analysts are saying people should be living below their means and that this will affect home prices and rates. Anyone have any information to share? Should we wait to see what happens before moving forward with an offer? I am very financially conservative. TIA!!

I'm not clairvoyant but I think our debt ceiling will be raised and we will suffer no more or no less from this latest escapade.

I think it will be raised as well, but I had the feeling there was going to be some backlash in any event
