Debt Ceiling...is anyone else completely disgusted
with the way both parties have acted? I find it ludicrous that they can't come to an agreement and continue to blame the opposing party or past administrations. This is their flipping job that WE PAY them for and they spend more time pointing fingers and performing political posturing!

I'm sure if their retirement plan funded via taxes or their paychecks were in jeopardy...the discussions and outcome would have been much more directed and have been agreed upon by now.

Re: Debt Ceiling...is anyone else completely disgusted
I have had it with politicians. Regardless of the side. Each time you get a new President you hear "you need to fix what the guy who just left did", then vice versa when the other party gets it's president in. Each party putting road blocks to the other side. I am all for keeping control of each party but there is a limit to when keeping the balance is interferring with running the Country.
THIS now, REALLY shows how OUT OF TOUCH and HOW UNCARING they really are for the American Citizens. They all think it's a game.
It's digusting!!!!

If my parents don't get their ss checks I'm sending the white house their rent invoice and food bills.
Too much power is in their hands and they are ill equipped to solve the problem.
Political jockeying and self interests as well.

Re: Debt Ceiling...is anyone else completely disgusted
i can't fathom why any party can have the crossed arms approach. We all agree spending needs to be reduced (but it never can be stopped) and this issues of "raising taxes" is freaking bull. You are not raising taxes your eliminating deductions. It is not just on the super rich but even on middle class americans. Sorry if you want to take away my ability to deduct my interest off my mortgage in order to raise a few bucks so grandma can get her social security check then fine - but how about the jet owners, ceo and hedge fund managers who got real big handouts and don't want to give back. I am sorry when you can deduct 40-60% (not exact but a few articles have stated its a high percentage) of your lifestyle as a business expense this is where i have a problem.

I agree with you.
I can't believe they're playing with our lives like this.

Re: Debt Ceiling...is anyone else completely disgusted
for some reason the tea party thinks they have some "mandate" from the last election to act like morons... they basically want to slash the entitlement programs to the BONE.. yet keep the taxes low for the rich and businesses.
I really think it's the conservatives that are halting negotiations by demanding a balanced budget amendment, etc etc..
Democrats came to the table with reductions in spending on entitlements and yet the conservative tea baggers, oops I mean party members, won't budge when it comes to raising taxes on the top earners.
They say it will hurt jobs- which I don't understand since hardly any jobs were generated from the tax cuts and we LOST jobs! Obviously the rich don't make jobs unless people are spending.. Consumer spending accounts for what, over 70% of GDP?
We create the jobs.. the spending middle class.. they need to get their act together.

The middle class is a disappearing class at this point.
We are going back to the 19th century. A rich class and a poor class.
