Alex is great - We just love him to pieces
I am just NOT looking forward to going back to work - UGH
He is constipated - just got off the phone with Dr. - he said ALL formula is the same (vs. breastmilk) so I wont change what he is currently on; just want the constipation to go away since he was SO uncomfortable

Re: Dec. moms how are you doing
Hi ladies. DS is doing well although I wish he was a better sleeper. He'll occasionally nap in the swing, bouncer or carseat/snap n go, but usually he only wants to sleep on me. He hates the pack n play and quickly wakes up if I try to put him down in it. I pretty much hold him all day. I don't really mind, but sometimes I could use a break. Plus, DS will only sleep in my arms at night. Our furniture is finally being delivered today so hopefully he'll like the crib. I'm not too optimistic though.
BFing is tough, but it's getting better. He started cluster feeding at night though which is tiring and kind of painful.
Hope everyone is doing well.

We are doing great. It has been a huge adjustment but we are SOOO in love with our adorable little boy. It is hard getting up at night but I'm getting use to it. He loves to be held and is eating like a champ. Hope everyone else is doing well!!!

Re: Dec. moms how are you doing
We are doing great! I am so in love with my little man. He is a great eater and sleeper. He has started sleeping through the night as of Tuesday night! He doesnt like to nap during the day so much. He will only really nap in my arms.
My DS is also constipated and has had some formula issues and reflux. We have finallly found a formula that makes him happy. We are working on the poop issue. I give him a 1/2 oz. of prune juice a day to help.
We had our 1 month check up and the dr. detected a heart murmur. We have an appointment at a ped. cardiologist (I am a nervous wreck), but the dr. thinks its just an innocent murmur.
Enjoy your time with your little ones girls!

I heard the formula's with iron causes constipation. I switched to Enfamil Gentelease LIPA and found that she went more

Re: Dec. moms how are you doing
I just wanted to say I was a Dec 2007 mommy and I totally remember the first few weeks, gettign use to taking care of this little person!
But just cherish every moment, dont think about work or how clean/not your house is etc....I can remember so clearly bringing DS home from the hospital...and now he is 1, running aroudn the house, feeding himself, off formula, trying to talk, chasing the dog, etc...I can't believe that little baby who slept about 20 hours a day is now the toddler who stops his feet and blow raspberrys at me when I tell him no!
ENJOY!

Re: Dec. moms how are you doing
I am doing much better 3 weeks later than I was when I first brought DD home.
Breast feeding has gotten easier, DD is pretty laid back and sleeps/eats well, though she tends to fuss a bit before eating, napping etc.
I can't believe how much I love her.
Sometimes I wonder if I am doing everything "right." DH and I have had no help from family or hired help, so this has definitely been a crash course in parenting for both of us.

Re: Dec. moms how are you doing
Well, its only been a little over 2 weeks but we seem to be establishing a routine. Both babies have slept well the past 3 nights, I think they are starting to get night and day right. I get about 2 hrs of sleep at a time. They are both good eaters and are both doing well with BFing although I bottle feed as well for my own sanity. Right now my mom has been coming over to help so I am alone with them a few hrs a day. When she goes back it will be very challenging! DD is a lot more mellow than DS, he does a lot of screaming!! I love them to bits!

thanks i called the dr. and he said that all formulas are the same basically and they all tend to constipate - I dont know if I agree - so I'm kind of torn I was BFing but DS was getting too hungry and didnt want to "work" for it so now he wont even do it
He has his one month check up next Thursday so I'll see what happens between now and then

Re: Dec. moms how are you doing
Hi ladies!! We are doing great. I could never have imagined having such a good baby. He sleeps well, eats well and only cries when he is hungry/needs a change.
Had one minor issue---belly button was a little infected, but we saw the doctor yesterday and he put some stuff on it and all appears well now.
DH's grandmother passed away over the weekend so we brought him to her wake so he got to meet his extended family a little sooner than planned.
I am looking forward to venturing out with him in the next few weeks. Being home-bound is really the hardest thing.
Any December moms on Long Island still up for a get together? Maybe the first week of February?

Re: Dec. moms how are you doing
I'm doing great surprisingly!! I honestly prepared myself for much worse...DD is an insane eater, we took her home from the hospital at 6.3 and 3.5 weeks later she's 9.3 She does get a bit fussy sometimes with napping and sleeping but once she's down she sleeps for good 3.5-4 hour stretches... I've had ALOT of help which is great... My Dr. gave me the green light to go out with her to visit our parents instead of them constantly coming here so I can't wait...and yes, the fact that I get excited to go food shopping is sad... How is everyone with they're weight...I still have like 3 pounds to be at my pre pregnancy weight and then another 5-8 for me to be where I want to be since I gained that before I got pregnant from quitting smoking....

Re: Dec. moms how are you doing
We are doing well. The boys are starting to become more alert and look at us and objects in the past couple of weeks. They still wake every three hours to eat on the dot so I am not getting a lot of sleep, but they are relatively easy babies. They are so sweet and really have their own personalities. I was a Dec Mom but had my boys Nov 24 due to preeclampsia. I am about 15 lbs below my pre pregnancy weight but it is not a pretty picture when unclothed

Re: Dec. moms how are you doing
We are doing great! DD is truly an angel! She had her 1 month appointment today and the Dr. said she is doing extremely well!
She has been a sleeper since day 1--she typically sleeps 5-6 hours for her first stretch at night, nurses for about an hour, and then goes right back down for another 3 hours or so. We are surprisingly well-rested!
She's doing VERY well with BF, and I'm proud to say that my supply has been steadily increasing with her demand...I usually get 8 oz. during a 15 minute pumping session, which allows me to stay ahead of the curve.
My only complain is due to the ruptured disc of my back. I feel like such a bad mom--I can't pick her up when she cries, I need to wait for someone else to hand her to me. The pain is so bad that I've been bedridden for 3 days. Thank goodness we've gotten so good at BF while laying down. BUT, my surgery is tomorrow so I will finally be able to return to my life again!

I have to disagree with your doc. DD was constantly constipated on everything but Enfamil Gentleease as well. The Target brand worked just as well but was cheaper. I would try it
