Decorating help - what accent color should I use?
My bathroom is painted this color:
It's a gray/green, but because of our dark green (almost hunter) tiles, it def looks more green.
Our towels/bathroom rugs are an ivory color.
Currently I have purple - just a decorative plant. I'd like to add some faux flowers and candles.
What accent color should I use? Stick with purple or more daring, like orange?

Do you have a pic of the bathroom?
I like the purple accent idea so far.

Pics of the room always help and get better responses/suggestions.
You could try chocolate brown with the purple. Some cranberry too. You're never limited to one accent color. Two or three is nice.

I don't have ANY pictures. They're all on my DHs camera. We don't have a computer at home (yet), so they're not uploaded.
I feel bad asking him to go to his parents to upload the pics so I can show them to LIFers.
Ugh!!!!

If you are looking at faux flowers and candles, you could do a mixture with the flowers. Bring in the cream, cranberry and purple. When you go to pick out flowers, grab different colors together and keep playing with it until you are happy with how it looks. Then buy a nice vase to go with it.
Where are you going to put the flowers and candles? How big is the bathroom?

You might not like the decor, but I'm just trying to give you a visual for the colors. HTH!

This isn't your master bath is it?
If it's the downstairs bathroom, a darker purple might look nice because of that gorgeous sink you have in there.....
Me personally, I'm all about the neutrals because it makes it easy to switch out decor when I get bored. So I would go with creams, tans, whites.... but I'm boring and I like a very bright bathroom.

The pic looks more gray than green, but if it really looks greener from the hunter tiles, I think orange would work. How about a yellow that is more of a gold-yellow?

Re: Decorating help - what accent color should I use?
yeah Kim - it's our master.
It's a fairly large bathroom BUT our vanity doesn't have room for a whole lot - I don't want to clutter it.
I want to put taper candle holders on the tub ledge and faux flowers on a shelf.
I want to keep the towels and rug neutral b/c they're expensive. To me, at least.
Jen - I LOVE that style. I love those colors. That bathroom is more of a yellow green but I think those colors would totally work. THANK YOU!!!!
