Decorating Help/Opinions/Suggestions
Hi !! Need some help - DH wanted to paint our bedroom a deep red - it's a VERY deep red/burgandy color with white crown moldings and hardwood floors ....... - I liked this bedding to brighten up the room a bit, and don't want anything very formal
So, here is my question, do I do dark blinds/shades with white/cream curtains ? OR white blinds/shades with dark curtains ??
Our MBR is currently on the 1st floor in the front of the house (we have a cape) and we don't have a 'bedroom set' yet ........so I'm trying to work w/ what I have here !! =)
I like these wood blinds ........What do you think ?? Image Attachment(s):

Re: Decorating Help/Opinions/Suggestions
How many windows do you have in the room? I'd make sure you have plenty f light if you're planning to paint the room that dark... and I'd use a flat or eggshell paint finish...
I think I'd do ALL white trim and window treatments to lighten up the room a bit and add contrast. Dark window treatments will let less light in and the room can look way too dark / dreary. At the very least, I'd use white window treatments (blinds). I think that they'll look better if they match the trim, though, so I'd actually vote for white trim, too.

Re: Decorating Help/Opinions/Suggestions
There are 2 large windows in the room and the house is Southfacing so it's very bright. - The room is already painted, the new moldings are up and are all painted white. - Even with the very dark color, the room is very bright.
I didn't think of doing white blinds and white curtains ........... I guess I could do that ....Thanks !!
Anyone else ??

I would not use teh dark wood blinds. I would go with light wood blinds.

Re: Decorating Help/Opinions/Suggestions
I am doing our MB the same color that you were describing. I actually wanted our DR to be this color but DH really wants it for the MB. This is a picture of Tine 73's Dining room. I absolutley love it. The color is Rasberry Truffle and it's from BM.
this is going to be our MB color.
Oh and I would go with the white blinds or curtains.

Re: Decorating Help/Opinions/Suggestions
Thanks everyone - I'm going to order the white wood blinds - and start the search for white curtains.
My old bedroom at my parents' house was BM Rasberry Truffle - I loved it, but DH wanted something deeper. - We now have more of a burgandy - it's nice, but more difficult to decorate around !!
Thanks again !

Re: Decorating Help/Opinions/Suggestions
I agree with the white blinds/white curtains suggestion. I actually have that in our bedroom and the combination looks really good. I did have a problem finding bright white curtains, however. The white was always just a little bit "off" next to the white blinds and the white trim. What I ended up doing was two layers of sheer white curtains. The effect was soft and also let in a lot of light (our bedroom is sage with a dark olive accent wall).
